YOU GUYS.
This is a big day for me. I’ve been talking about how I’ve been wanting to start to maybe try to begin to attempt a podcast for like, oh I don’t know 28 years. Yeah, I think I wanted a podcast when I was a toddler suckin’ on my mama’s boob. I mean, probably, because I’ve wanted to do this basically forever but it just never came together UNTIL NOW.
And you won’t find it anywhere else other than the one, the only, the brand-new-and-ridiculously-awesome-and-way-better-than-other-podcast-things 180 Radio.
Why is 180 Radio so ridiculously awesome? Well, for one thing… THERE’S NO ADS.
Do you really need another reason?
With 180 Radio, you get instant access to all current and archived shows on a wide variety of topics with expert hosts and guests, offering tons of quality information you want to know about, and you can download the podcasts to listen where ever you want. Does that kind of sound like those summit things where you pay out the nose for a little bundle of podcasts, because well, they sound like they offer good info from people you trust? 180 Radio is like that, but you don’t pay an ungodly amount of money to download the podcasts (you can download everything on there right now for free). And it’s not just for one week (new shows are added almost daily). And it’s not just all about one thing (there’s tons of topics with a variety of experts on the talk shows plus other fun shows that feature up-and-coming bands and musicians too!) And never. Any. Annoying. Ads (I’m looking at you, iTunes).
Sound like a plan? You can start listening to 180 Radio right now for free.
Here’s what’s on this week’s episode of the brand new BB podcast on 180 Radio, Churn it Up.
Churn it Up #1: Fermentation with Oh, Lardy!
Carrots? “We can ferment that!”
Orange juice? “We can ferment that!”
How about…chicken feed? Yup. The ladies behind the popular real food and health blog, Oh, Lardy! are the masters of fermented foods, and yes—you name it, they’ll show you how to ferment it. Which is kind of like pickling, only better. (But points for you if you got the Portlandia reference, there.)
What’s so great about fermented food? Well, if you know anything about the benefits of probiotics, then you already have an idea of why you might just want to germ-ify your food to get the most out of it. Fermentation breeds those beneficial bacteria in your food, increases nutrients and enhances digestion, protects the health of your gut and even supports your immune system.
From sauerkraut to peppers to (real) pickles and more, bloggers and authors Tamara and Kelly will show you all about how you can become a master fermenter, too. Which you definitely want to be. Because intentionally leaving your food out on the counter to breed billions of bacteria all over it? Is pretty badass.
